Deutsche Bahn is now inviting suppliers to help create what the German state railway describe as "one of the most important railway connections in Europe".

Work on the rail connection on the Fehmarn project starts this year on Fehmarn, and Deutsche Bahn is therefore holding a digital supplier day on March 24th at 10-11:30 CET.

Focus on upcoming tenders

On the digital supplier day, project managers from DB Netz AG will present the current status of the "Railway connection to the fixed Fehmarnbelt connection" project.

The focus is on the so-called planning approval section (PFA) 6 on Fehmarn, which is expected to start in autumn 2023.

For the preparatory works, tenders for construction site clearance and roads will be published from mid-2023.

From the middle of 2023, the tender for the main construction work in structural engineering and track and road construction will also be published.

At the event on 24th March, DB Netz AG will also give an insight into upcoming tenders in PFA 3 (Lensahn area) and PFA 5.2 (Grossenbrode area) as well as the planned allocations of the railway partnership model.

Information on pre-qualification

Companies that are not already suppliers to Deutsche Bahn AG will be able to get assistance on the supplier day (24th March).

Here, the project managers will give a short introduction to pre-qualification procedures and to DB's supplier portal.

It is already possible to find information about pre-qualification on the supplier portal.
