The Fehmarn Link Business Conference ´22 gives an overview for subcontractors who want to be involved in the next construction tasks.

When the million-euro TEM contract work commences on the Fehmarn project in 2023, it will not only create opportunities for large and specialized companies, but also for small and medium-sized companies from within a number of sectors, director of Femern Belt Development, Stig Rømer Winther, points out.

The TEM contract includes the electrical and mechanical contents of the tunnel, including ventilation, lighting, instrumentation and automation processes and safety systems, and will be carried out by the Spanish consortium SICE-Cobra, which has established the company “Femern Systems Contractor” especially for the Fehmarn contract work.

Specialviden, leverandører og underleverandører

Femern Systems Contractor will need a number of employees with specialist knowledge as well as suppliers and sub-suppliers (see the fact box at the bottom of this article).

This applies, among other things, to employees and companies with technical specialist capacities within heating systems, ventilation systems, cooling systems, electrical installation, automation and regulation, as well as and fire protection.

In addition to this, suppliers of TV equipment for surveillance, security and communication will also be required.

Opportunities for small and medium-sized entreprises

"The TEM contract naturally includes technically advanced solutions that will be interesting for technically specialized employees and companies, but Femern Systems Contractor will also need a number of services that can be performed by small and medium-sized companies, e.g. within transport, minor construction tasks and in various service areas," says director Stig Rømer Winther, Femern Belt Development.

He therefore encourages companies that want to be considered for these tasks to participate in the Fehmarn Link Business Conference (FLBC) in Rødbyhavn Sports Hall on 29 September 2022.
